Question on Price Multiples Comparison Valuation
This question may seem simplistic but I’ve been wondering…
In order to get a better gauge of what’s overvalued/undervalued for the price multiples approach, would it be an acceptable method if instead of just using one price multiple - I use 2 or more of them (i.e. P/BV, P/E, EV/EBITDA, Div Yield) and see which stocks in my “universe” consistently appear undervalued under the different price multiples?
For instance, if in my universe I see one particular stock that’s undervalued for P/E,P/BV,Div Yield and EV/EBITDA then I would regard that as the most undervalued one while others which are only undervalued in 1 or 2 price multiple would be regarded as less undervalued.
Any thoughts? |
