Equity Question 1180, into, problems, question, getting

I ran into a couple problems in Reading 40 (Dividend Discount Model) EOC questions pg(360, 362). For #8a where are they getting ROE from? and on question 15a how are they calculating growth of .1180? I would type out the questions but 15 is too long. Thanks for any help.
