MS in Finance Overview
M.S. in Finance
If you have a strong background in finance or accounting (either through an undergraduate degree in finance or accounting or with five years' experience in a finance-related job) and aspire to be a portfolio manager, financial analyst, or money manager, then this program is designed for you.
Students complete an intensive twelve-month program that starts online during the summer and ends the following summer with an internship.
The program offers a series of nine finance courses supplemented with economics, corporate responsibility and ethics, which provides graduates with a thorough understanding of material in the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) Candidate Body of Knowledge. West Virginia University’s College of Business and Economics is the newest member of the CFA Institute University Recognition Program. This recognition makes our program one of only 20 currently recognized universities in the CFA Americas Region, and one of only 33 in the world.

CFA Institute Recognition
The WVU College of Business and Economics MS in Finance program has been accepted into the CFA Institute University Recognition Program. This status is granted to institutions whose degree programs incorporate at least 70% of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK), which provides students with a solid grounding in the CBOK and positions them well to sit for the CFA exams.
