Unbelievable. Does anyone else in this world think that single, 52-yo Ms. Middledorf has *below* average risk tolerance when she comes to you with $3,000,000 of nearly entirely stock, most of it dripping with specific-company risk, is "excited about its continued appreciation", and mentions over the next 1 year she'd like to see lower volatility.
Lower than where she is is still a considerably risk-tolerant.
You buy this gal a 50% bond portfolio and she will fire you. That's not what she's looking for.
