is a flat fee the only accpetable form of payment to receive when being paid to write a research report, either independetly or for an investor relations firm? is accepting stock options, warrants always a violation when issuing a report even if the recommendation is not favorable?

I would think any incentive pay would violate Independence and Objectivity.
