Hi All,
I have seen the list of profiles posted at CFAI website which can be considered for getting charter. But they are too vague.
Are software developers in "finance" domain good enough for this?
For instance somebody working for Thomson Reuters or Bloomberg or Factset or Dow Jones Newswires or any software company involved completely in this domain.
Any body has experience or know somebody with similar case? Please comment.

What about Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst.?
What about the one who is involved in Corp Finance Strategies ?
What about Budgeting,Costing?
What about if a person is managing Pension Fund? (Restricted Investment)

the easy answer is none of us know and we are not going to admit ;-)
if you want, have a look in level-3 forum or ask CFA insitute
just to share my perspective, I am a yankee technology div guy, but after 8yrs in s/w development I dont think i will be ready to move to other domain and start from scratch. I know techies in the bank who have completed all three levels but cant use the charter due to the experience fulfillment issue, but they are very effective in their work and are the bridge between the FO and core techies..
