Hello,
I just took CFA L3 in June 2011 and recently moved to a new town, and I am applying to the local CFA society for regular membership. My problem is that I do not know any members here yet. Have any of you had a similar experience, and how have you dealt with it?

Why don't you try attending some of the local events? I'm sure you can build a few connections through those and can find someone willing to assist you.

I called my local society and CFAI....local society is pretty cool and just ask me to email them my contact info and they will try to match couple of members as sponsor if I need to....CFAI informs me that I don't have to belong to any local society; i was shcoed to hear that.
