本人现在在一个投资管理公司上班，去年12月通过了一级，这两天已经报名了二级，如果顺利通过二级的话，我想申请去美国留学，不知道CFA的这个考试对留学有没有很大的促进作用？？

留学是为了读学位,CFA只是一个认证而已,个人觉得没有什么关系.
就如同你考了CCNP会对上清华有帮助嘛,呵呵

据说通过cfa三级可以免考gmat~~似乎也可以免修部分学分~~

Let me give you some insights. I'm a MBA candidate in US and working on Level III right now.
In terms of your application for any top program. Your credential doesn't count much as long as you have solid relative working experience. In your case, you've been working in investment management firms. The hands-on experience you have from your daily job is more important than your status of level II candidate. For those career switcher, I personal encourage taking some professional exam beforehand to show your passion and comittement to the indusutry you wanna get in.
Once you are in a MBA program. Your CFA study experience will help you ace the MBA accounting and finance curriculum. There's much overlap in my program. And it will help you much when pursuing investment management intern. But for IBD service, CFA doesn't count much. Your soft skill especially language proficiency does.
BTW, clarify one thing. As far as I know, I never heard CFA could lead to a GMAT waiver and credit waiver. Never. Take GMAT seriously.
For ph.Ds. I don't think CFA deserves trying. It's kinda broad array of the financial related knowledge set. But US phD programs expect you to do something deeper.
Anyway, try to prioritize your time and energy. Make your best shot.

CFA as a certification, it is not suitable in scorlar...
I knew lots of chinese Ph.D especially MBA work in the Casino... Actually u knew the situation of the current States economy.
It is not such hard to apply US univ...
Application depends ur potential Boss, he likes u, u pass...or...
Here's high recommendation that ussually in Canada, ur empoyer should pay the money for ya in CFA test.
