This is a really dumb question, but I noticed a lot of times in the AM exams posted on CFAI’s website that they don’t really give you much room to write / do calculations.
On the actual exam to they give you more blank space? Or are you supposed to do it on the back of the page?
I personally believe there was enough space. Especially for the big first personal IPS question. I recall something like several blank page. I remember that after filling out an entire page I realized I went the wrong direction. I crossed out the full page and started on a brand new one.
^^ Agree with crablegs. There are plenty of spaces.
For the templates, 95% you would find more than enough space since you want to list straight answer in bullet-pt. form.
There is enough space but you should try to be concise. Otherwise, you will run out of time.

too much space that you have to be sure you ANSWER EVERY QUESTION and not miss any flipping thru the pages.
Can’t stress enough to make sure you answer every question. Many people missed the last one last year. And I completly left one out because I wanted to think about it so I left it blank thinking I would go back to it. I forgot to go back to it.
When i have left things blank on the practice tests (last years), i went back to the front page with all the sections laid out and just put a start next to the question so i knew it was blank when i finished.
