I think they are pretty useful especially for commuters. Can squeeze out some study time while stuck in traffic. Even at a bare minimum, it keeps the main idea of the stuff you've read fresh. However many times have we read through the volumes and have finish the whole set only to re-read the first volume you've read and go "O_o ... this is ... completely new!!! <GASP!!> have I read this before?"
