International Character Pallet? symbols, programs, Windows, something, like

I know Mac OSX has one of these that can be used in virtually all programs... However, I'm doing my review on a Windows Machine.

Does Windows have something like this? I'd really like to use the proper symbols for equations rather than writing out "Standard Deviation" every time.

Thoughts?
