If it's that mediocre why even have it on there?

I had a 3.2 and followed the >3.0 rule when I was fresh out of school. I may take it off now.

^ please. I've run into companies that want SAT scores from experienced hire openings ( scores from 10 years ago)

If you got a good score or GPA, just leave it on the resume. There's no downside, and it'll either be neutral or positive for you, so why the heck not?
