Good post. I'm in IT, have three kids, a full time job and only had 3 months and 4 days to study. Everyone who ever took a CFA test and failed was telling me constantly how hard the test was. How it's so difficult to pass. "Good luck on that one" and other snide comments.

I passed with 7 topics > 70% and have my results sheet hanging on my wall. And now nobody's making negative comments.

There are two metrics that determine if you will pass this test:
1. How smart you are
2. How hard you work

I won't hazard at guess at quantifying the breakdown between these two, but I'm convinced that #2 is significantly more important.

Another annoying thing to deal with are the people with the attitude of "If you don't pass, no big deal. You can just take it the next year." Forget that. Studying for Level 1 consumed my life for 3 months. I wasn't going through that twice.
