How much time are you willing to commit?

With no finance background you'd probably have to invest ~300 hours for the test - is that doable between now and December for you?

Also, if you do December you can take L2 in June, which saves you a year.

All comes down to how serious you are about it - before you do a thing, ask yourself if you and your wife can handle the commitment that it takes.
