I totally disagree with the last sentence. I always pick up a couple things the day before the exam. A formula here I forgot, a concept I forgot. That little bit might make the difference between that 1 question that passes or fails you.

Its like those people who don't bring any study material to the exam site (not into the room obviously). Why not? Brush up, and if you realize you are weak on something, quickly check it out and feel confident enough. I study until the last minute.
