Income Statement Question its, question, general, amount

Quick general question on I.S - Example, Walmart doesn’t report Dept and amort on its income stat. but this amount is added back on the Cash flow statement?!?! What am i missing here?  Why isn’t that amount deducted to compute Net income?  Thanks for the help.
