AICPA/CIMA Convergence statements, holding, morning, whether

I got an email this morning form CIMA saying that they've just formed a JV with AICPA. I have to admit I'm not sure if they will be able to agree on whether to use Proportionate Consolidation or the Equity method for their financial statements?

Still, it's cool, we are seeing a trend of international convergence of qualifications. CPA is now holding exams in the Asia for the first time this august. Maybe one day there will just be one credential - a frankenstein conglomerate CFACPAACIMAACCASTD!

Dude you are either Indian or Pakistani? How do you become both? That is like saying I am American/Canadian...Never heard of that.

Strange coincidence: in Canada, the CAs and the CMAs are reviving the possibility of a merger. It's just at the member feedback stage, so we'll see what comes of it.
