CFA L2 Candidate on CV ... just a question on L1 pass format

Hello,

Can i use "Professional Memberships: CFA Level 2 Candidate June 2012, CFA Level 1 achieved June 2011" in this wording in my CV under qualifications ?

thanx in advance

I can't fully explain why, but I just threw up in a my mouth a little.

I would NOT put that on your CV...very wrongly worded.

just put either "passed CFA level 1 exam" or "CFA level 2 candidate: sitting June 2012 exam"....or something similar to that.

I think it's redundant to say you are a level 2 candidate AND that you passed level 1...

CFA Level 2 Candidate.

(explains where you are, and where you've been)

Seriously.....does no one remember there is a section on this in the Ethics portion of the exam. This question comes up once a week....CFAI clearly discusses exactly how you are to represent this on a resume.

You should say, "Achievement Unlocked: Passed L1".

Card Shark is right....how did you pass Level 1 without knowing this?

You can only establish you are a Level II candidate if you are signed up for the Level II exam. I also agree with BuySide...it's redundant to use both phrases...

Last Note: don't be a chump, use Roman numerals

You can also say - "Level 2 CFA, thereby guaranteeing superior performance".

Given everyone's input, I think this is exactly how to put it:

"Achievement Unlocked: Level 2 CFA, Passed CFA 1 , thereby guaranteeing superior performance"

+1

p.s. agree with the Roman numerals...this is a must in my mind.
