Use of CFA designation regular, member, official, approved

Hi guys

So I passed Level III, got work exp approved, paid my dues to be a regular member, can I now use the designation? Or do I need to wait for official confirmation that I can?

Agreed.

Communication sucks a bit anyways.
They should mention these things already in the mail telling you that you passed L3.
And when they confirm they received your updates of work experience, etc.
Better mention it 20 times then let people search for it themselves.

when u see CFA against your name in the CFA Member Directory, can use it...

Well this is what said:

To earn a CFA charter, you must:

Have four years of qualified investment work experience,
Become a member of CFA Institute,
Pledge to adhere to the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct,
Apply for membership to a local CFA member society, and
Complete the CFA Program.

....So I would suppose that if I have done all of this...Although I'm not using the letters against my name at this time, I don't think it is a breach to do so if you have completed all the steps.

Well, these are the things we are expected to do, not what CFAI should do. The last stage, which comes after your list, is none of our business as CFAI takes time its own time before finally deciding to give us the charter. We have done our part, we just need to wait for CFAI to do its part. After all we are not the first to wait, I hope, and will not be the last...

I emailed CFAI and they said that 9/1 they would start the process and you will receive an email. Good luck!
