Following consensus with this year's exam -

1) Retakers feel this year's exam was harder.
2) Many people felt they couldn't complete the exam
3) Most of us had problem in tax rebalancing stuff of question 1 and Fixed Income part
4) Found PM exam easy with many tricky questions (we think we got the answer right but there is a chance that it is incorrect)
5) Many questions in PM had answers in which you can argue for 2 options
6) I feel this year passing score will be around higher 50s and low 60s range
7) Passing rate might stay same or even go down from 49 to somewhere around 47% (range would be 47-53)

Agree or Disagree?

agree all.

Also think that when doing the 2009 am paper in revision it seemed way easier than the exam this year. but then the whole time pressure and exam thing on top poss made the 2010 seem harder.

interesting to hear that everyone came out thinking it was easy in 2009 yet the pass rate was v low.

Agree all except the passing score. I think it is between 65 to 70. I feel low 60s or below has been impossible to pass since 2009. It has been tougher to score a level3 pass than the good old days.

As a re-taker, I agree with #1.

Last year there were tons of threads saying how easy the exam was and that the pass rate would be the highest ever. When writing the exam, I've never seen so many people leave early. Half were gone with 45 mins left and maybe 1/4 remained by the 30 min mark.

Either last year's exam had a lot of tricks or the MPS was super high. The pass rate was 49%

i just do not see the passing score here as being anything below 64%.... i dont know why but once you get below that it is a really low score, even if the exam was hard.....

boston21, agree with your points 1-5.

walked out thinking it was fair, but knowing that I'd miss a lot on tricks. Ran out of time to finish up last portion of Q1.

PM gave false confidence....especially since the mock and samples were much less tricky.

Passing score would be around 65-70..whatever the case

I don't think they would go below 45. Its a gradual process and if they bring it down to 40, many people will lose confidence and you might see decline in candidate registration.

You are overconfident at 47-53. Better be 40-60.

I am hoping - 60% of us pass.
