这是在notes book 1里面 p 122 的 Example，原题如下：

suppose you hve a $ 1000 ordinary annuity earning an 8% return. How many annual end-of-year $ 150 withdrawls can be made?

notes上的解法如下

The number of years in the annuity can be determinedc by entering the three relevant variables and compting N

I/Y=8; PMT =150; Pv= -1000; CPT N=9.9 years


我不明白的地方是为什么1000美元可以当作present value?

提里面说的1000块的年金，估计指的就是年金的限值是1000块吧。这事儿你只能顺着它的方式去理解，即使他说得不明白，怎么能凑出来答案怎么算是。
考试嘛，你懂的。前一阵考试的时候有个算return的题，我死活凑不出答案上的几个选项，就算是猜了一个。后来路上听人讨论才意识到，原来丫说的不是百分比，是dollar amount。你说有什么办法.....所以这事儿跟当太监一样，一方面要会做事，一方面要会揣摩圣意-----即使这意思没表达清楚
