Ethics question - Schweser she, attorney, previously, situation, question

I recently got an ethics question wrong while doing a practice test:
Mary sits at the board of directors of ZYX company, and observes illegal activity, she is required to:
-disassociate
-seek legal advice
-both
I picked dissaociate, but the correct answer is both. While seeking legal advice in this situation would be a good idea, I was not previously aware that you were REQUIRED to seek help from an attorney. Is it because she is a board member?
