2 to 3 years experience in the mutual fund industry;
Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance or Marketing;
Enrolment in, or completion of, CFA program;
Completion of Canadian Securities Course.
Ability to work well independently or as a part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline drive environment; ability to handle heavy workload and flexibility to work outside of regular office hours;
Proficient at balancing multiple tasks and setting priorities;
Strong interpersonal skills and relationship management skills to deal with both internal and external parties; professional and tactful in client dealings;
Strong analytical skills; specifically ability to analyze, interpret and communicate portfolio performance and investment characteristics; strong modeling skills;
Proficiency with research systems such as Globe HySales, PALTrak, PerTrac, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, etc.; proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint;
Good oral and written communication skills;
Detailed understanding of the mutual fund/investment manager sales process and the industry’s competitive landscape;
Enthusiasm and strong understanding of financial markets, investment concepts, investment products and related issues;
Desire to study, learn and grow within the department and with the firm.
